Białowieża, the ancient forest

Białowieża Forest is one of the last and largest remaining parts of the immense primeval forest that once stretched across the European Plain. The forest is home to 800 European bison, Europe's heaviest land animal. The target of the trip was precisely the European bison and then the fascinating sea eagles. It was quite warm for the period (few degrees below zero) but luckly all the terrain was covered by fresh snow fallen, and this has contributed to making the atmosphere more magical.
